Abstract
We study the properties of light pseudoscalar mesons in a three flavor chiral quark model with nonlocal separable interactions. We consider the case of a Gaussian regulator, evaluating meson masses and decay constants. Our results are found to be in good agreement with empirical values, in particular, in the case of the ratio fK/fπ and the decay π0  γ γ. The model leads also to a reasonable description of the observed phenomenology in the ηη′ sector, where two significantly different mixing angles are required.
